King Edward Aston are proud to have been an official Barclays Girls Football School Partnership since 2022. 

We will be sharing football opportunities for girls across the year during curriculum time and after school. 

A huge thanks to all the schools who contributed to the girls' football programme in 2024-25.

Lionesses' Send Off Event 2026

 

Girls from Paget Primary and Chilwell Croft Academy had the privilege of attending the Lionesses' Send-off event in June 2026, before the team headed off to Switzerland for the Euros.

The girls got to play at St George's Park and meet HRH Prince William, England Manager Sarina Weigman and all the Lionesses. This was such an inspiring event and no doubt there will be plenty of girls aspiring to become Lionesses in the future!

A huge thanks to all the schools who contributed to the girls' football programme in 2024-25.

In 2024-25 the partnership was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion at the Youth Sport Trust / Barclay's Football Awards night. This is great recognition for all the schools and their work to ensure that girls have equal access to football in the curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

Pupil Opportunities:

Disney inspired Shooting Stars by England Football has been developed to support the engagement of girls aged 5–11 years in sport at school and in the home through creative play and storytelling.

- 2nd December 2025, 10am - 2pm @ Nechells Wellbeing Centre

- 19th May 2026 - 9.30 - 12.30pm @ KESSP

Bring 10 girls in Years 4-6 to our Shooting Stars Festival. This event will target fundamental movement skills through the power of Disney storytelling.
