Member Benefits

Members receive a number of benefits

As a member of the King Edward School Sport Partnership schools have access to a developing program of support throughout the year.

Schools are offered a comprehensive program of Continued Professional Development supporting the development of the PE coordinator, Newly and Recently Qualified Teachers, Early Years staff, key stage 1 and 2 staff and lunchtime supervisors and mentors. We listen to our colleagues in schools in order to ensure that the training we are offering is relevant and fulfilling their needs. Please see our CPD calendar for further details.

There are opportunities for leadership training for children through the Play leader training. Children will receive a badge and log book and their efforts are recognised with certificates marking the number of volunteer hours undertaken.

Throughout the year we look for further opportunities to support and develop physical education and school sport. The need for support developing competitive opportunities is catered for with a network of coaches working out of school hours with groups of children preparing them for competition. Coaches are also available to help increase the opportunities for all children to be active and increase the range of sport and activity available in schools. Where appropriate coaches are available to work alongside teachers during curriculum time to help increase skills and confidence in teaching PE.

Support with planning the curriculum, applying for  School Games Mark, involvement in the school games and looking at other funding opportunities is also available. We work to ensure that schools are kept up to date with all developments in PE and to enable schools to spend the Sports Premium funding appropriately and fulfil all the requirements.

Working closely with King Edward VI Aston School we offer schools access to the school sports facilities. Boys who achieve a place at the school having attended one of our partner schools will receive financial assistance through the Albion Trust to help with any expenses. For further information about the Albion Trust please contact Mr C. Parker Head Master King Edward VI Aston School c.parker@keaston.bham.sch.uk
