Netball Festivals 2010

 

There will be a festival held on the first Tuesday of each month to which all schools are to be invited. The first festival will be held on the 2^nd of February.

 

There will be two age groups, years three and four and years five and six. Schools can enter more than one team.

 

Girls from the Leadership Academy who have taken their netball umpires, award will lead the sessions under the guidance of staff.

 

The session will start as soon as schools are able to arrive with a warm up and coaching drills lead by the Academy girls, this is an opportunity for staff new to netball to develop their knowledge and for the children to work together.

 

Matches will be played between all the teams present. Due to the varying standard of netball within the schools this will not be competitive.

 

Festival will be held at King Edward Handsworth on the 2^nd of February

                                    Heartlands Academy             2^nd of  March

                        Aston Manor School               11^th of May

                        King Edward Handsworth         8th of June

If the weather is unsuitable for playing outside provision will be made for indoor activity based on netball skills.

 

Birchfield School are also offering the opportunity for schools to play friendly matches on Wednesday after school, if any two schools would like to take up this opportunity please ring Jo Townsend on 464 5294 or 07972630173.
